All Too Well has been one of Swift’s most popular songs and fans will likely be thrilled to hear the 10 minute version. Originally recorded in 2011, the song was originally three minutes long. Then, Swift re-recorded the entire Big Machine Records catalogue for the release of her fourth studio album, Red. While she’s gotten a lot of praise for her recent projects, she said that the original version of the song remains her favorite.
While the album version of the song may be more aggressive and vitriolic, the ten minute version is nonetheless a sweeter, more intimate experience. Verse 2’s metaphors echo the folklore and Red-era Taylor, but with bolder themes. There is also a secret message hidden in the song’s liner notes: “Maple Lattes.”
