Once after a year of friendship, two individuals began to develop feelings for one another; however, due to being from different cultures and backgrounds there were initial moments of tension. But eventually the pair became closer and decided to take their relationship further.

Alina and Steven Johnston Met on an Online Language App

Alina began learning English while Steven was learning Russian on an online language app. Soon thereafter, they started talking online but didn’t meet until Alina moved to Salt Lake City for her internship program.

As soon as she met Steven in person, Alina felt an immediate bond and they moved forward with plans for marriage almost immediately – hoping to have been married within a year of first meeting but due to COVID restrictions the Russian border was closed, prohibiting travel together and thus their wedding date becoming unavailable.

Steven and Alina managed to overcome all their differences and find love together despite all of the challenges in their relationship. They overcame physical differences to discover true bliss within each other.

As their tourist visas in Turkey were about to expire, they needed a plan for how they’d get married; but their plans were set back when Steven was denied a spousal visa for Russia.

Alina and Steven were able to overcome this major setback, but still had some challenging times ahead of them. Their marriage was still young, and many red flags still existed – such as Steven’s dubious behavior or any doubts over Alina’s commitment to get baptized.

After their wedding, however, more severe challenges and complications arose for the couple. Due to an outbreak of coronavirus in Russia, they decided instead to get married in Turkey instead.
